McCall, ID - The Roadside Fire has grown to 2,103 acres and is 40% contained. The fire continues to be staffed by seven engines, eight smokejumpers, three hand crews, and two dozers with full contained estimated for tomorrow evening.
The Weiser Rural Fire Department along with firefighters from the Payette NF responded to a fire last night at the Steck Park Campground, located about 20 miles northwest of Weiser, Idaho along the Snake River. Due to the high winds, fire spotted out of an approved campfire ring but firefighters were able to extinguish the spot fire before it spread.
As a reminder to the public, Stage 1 Fire Restrictions are in place on State and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) managed lands, and portions of the Boise and Payette National Forests within the areas listed below:
- All State and BLM managed lands within Ada, Canyon, Elmore, Gem, Owyhee, Payette, and Washington Counties
- All Payette National Forest lands within Washington County.
- All of the Mountain Home Ranger District in the Boise National Forest within Elmore County and a portion of Boise County and Ada County.

The Lafferty Fire, burning in grass and timber approximately 14 miles northwest of Council near Lafferty Campground has been contained at 9:30 this morning.
The Artic Fire, located ½ mile east of Artic Point Lookout in the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness continues to be staffed by two McCall smokejumpers with an estimated containment date of 7/22/12.
