Greenfield Fire – The Greenfield fire started around 2:30 p.m. on private property next to Highway 95 approximately four miles southwest of Midvale, Idaho in T. 13N, R. 4W, section 22. This fire started about one mile south of the recent Roadside Fire. The fire is currently 30 acres and fueled by grass and brush. Resources on scene consist of Weiser City and Rural Fire Departments, Midvale Rural Fire Department, air attack, 2 SEATS (Single Engine Air Tankers), 2 Helicopters, 2 Dozers, and 5 Engines from the Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management. Highway 95 is shut down to one lane in the vicinity of the fire with traffic escorted by a pilot car. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Hillman Fire – The fire is located within the Boulder Creek Drainage West of the Little Salmon River (T21N R1E Sec 3), approximately 15 miles north of New Meadows, and 4 miles south of Pinehurst, Idaho. Burning on private land, but within the Payette NF fire protection, this fire was reported by Pollock Lookout at approximately 6 p.m. last night. There are multiple structures threatened but there are no evacuation orders at this time. The fire is now 50% contained with two 20 person hand crews and two engines on scene. The fire has not grown today and is still at approximately 30 acres in size. The fire could cause smoke in the New Meadows Valley, along Hwy 95, and the Riggins area.
