RESOURCES ON FIRE: There are 92 total personnel on this incident, including:
· Two Type 1 Hotshot Crews
· Two Type 2 Hand Crews
· Two Type 6 Engines
· Two Smoke Jumpers
· One Type 1 Helicopter
· Type 3 IC – F. Behm
REMARKS: The fire is located on the ridge between Beaver Creek and Marsh Creek and is actively burning in subalpine fir and lodgepole pine. Firefighters continue to take an active role in completing fuel breaks along Beaver Creek Road from Beaver Creek Campground to Shake Creek. The fire burned actively through the night. Bonneville Hotshots are working to suppress a spot fire north of the Pinyon Peak/Seafoam Jct. (#172/008) on the east side of the Pinyon Peak Road halfway to the Langer Lake Trailhead. The fire has not established in the Marsh Creek drainage at this time. Where the fire burned into the old (1998) Laidlow Fire area fire intensity was reduced. Houseman’s NIMO (National Incident Management Organization) Team will take command of the fire on Wednesday, August 1. The Halstead Fire Emergency Area Closure (Order Number: 04-13-12-518) went into effect July 31, 2012 for all access points to the Cape Horn Area, all access to the Seafoam Bubble, all access to the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness (FCRONRW)that is east of the Middle Fork Wild and Scenic River Corridor, east of Bluebunch Ridge, and north of Lola Creek, the area northwest of the Knapp-Loon Trail and west of the Pinyon-Feltham Road. In addition, the Pinyon Peak Road in its entirety is closed.
The following CAMPGROUNDS are closed due to the fire closure: Beaver Creek Campground, Beaver Creek Camp Spur, Lola Creek Campground, Lola Camp Spur A, Marsh Creek Transfer, Josephus Lake.
ALL ROADS and TRAILS within the closure and forming boundaries of the closure area are CLOSED.
The above described area is within the proclaimed and administrative boundaries of the Middle Fork and Challis-Yankee Fork Ranger Districts, Salmon-Challis National Forest, Custer and Valley Counties, Idaho.
PREVENTION MESSAGE: Fire danger on the Salmon-Challis National Forest is high. Although the Forest currently does not have any fire restrictions in affect, we are asking visitors to use precaution at all times. Please make sure your campfires are completely dead out at the end of each use.
