This is the first revision of the John Day Fossil Beds compendium since 2012. Many of the changes simply clarify language in the former compendium or formalize common practices already in place.
Other changes address new technology, such as unmanned aircraft.
“John Day Fossil Beds preserves world class plant and animal fossils.
