At this workshop, the Forest Service will report back to the stakeholder panel members and the public on the environmental and social science information that has been gathered, and explain how that information will be used in the formal NEPA process.
“At previous meetings, stakeholder panel members have provided research articles and other references for the upcoming analysis, said Deborah Kill, NEPA Coordinator, “At the third workshop, the Forest Service will present how the reference material will be applied in our comparison of alternatives in the upcoming analysis.”
As has been the case throughout this “pre-NEPA” process of stakeholder meetings, no specific road or trail proposals will be discussed at the third and last workshop. Those specific proposals will be forthcoming when the agency releases a ‘Proposed Action’ for public comment this fall.
