Two free workshops will be held on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015; one from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (for construction/service vendors) and one from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.for (wild-land fire vendors) at the San Juan Public Lands Center, 15 Burnett Court, Durango, CO 81301. Small businesses currently doing business or wanting to do business with the Forest Service are invited to attend. Topics covered will include how to register and do business with the Forest Service and how be responsive to solicitations. The fire fair will provide updates on regulations, contracts, the ordering and payment process, and types of services needed to support crews.
Any small business interested in providing services to the San Juan National Forest should attend. The services and equipment needed to support the Forest’s daily operations include plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofing, carpentry, earth moving, horizontal/vertical construction, etc.. Services and equipment needed to support firefighting include meals, copiers, heavy equipment, refrigerated trailers, ice, hardware, showers, toilets, hand-washing stations, and lodging.
