(Springfield, OR) The Mt. Hood NF, Willamette NF and Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area are seeking project proposals that restore watersheds, address road issues, control invasive weeds, improve forest health or otherwise improve conditions either on or near National Forest System (NFS) lands. Applications for projects on non-NFS land must demonstrate a benefit to NFS lands.
On April 16, 2015, Congress passed a two year reauthorization of the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act. This is the authorization legislation that funds these improvement projects. The public is invited to attend the August 27, 2015 meeting of the Mt. Hood-Willamette RAC. The meeting will be held at 10 a.m. on August 27, 2015 at the Salem BLM office at 1717 Fabry Road Southeast.
