The road and area closure is to provide for public health and safety. Closed areas near the fire perimeter include the Game Lake area to the north; the Snow Camp and Fairview areas to the west; and the Cedar Camp and Big Craggies Botanical Area to the south.
Road 1376 and all of its tributary roads, from the junction with Road 1407 to the road’s end, and Road 3680 and all of its tributary roads, from the junction with Road 3318 to the road’s end, are both closed. Signs are posted near those junctions for public notification.
Closures are still in effect for portions of the Game Lake Trail (#1169), Lawson Creek Trail (#1173) and Pupps Camp Trail (#1174).
Copies of the official Forest Orders and maps are available at the Gold Beach Ranger District office, Wild Rivers Ranger District offices in Grants Pass and Cave Junction, and the Rogue River-Siskiyou Headquarters Office in Medford, as well as the Forest Service website (http://www.fs.usda.gov/news/rogue-siskiyou/news-events).
The closures are effective through October 15, 2015, unless sooner rescinded. The Forest Service will notify the public when the closure has been lifted and it is safe to enter the area.
